About the event

Buffalo Table Hockey Festival, Exhibitions, and Championships starts tonight and will continue till Sunday. The festival includes a charity event on Friday night, amateur and professional tournaments on Saturday that encourage public participation. There you will have a great opportunity to watch the professionals face off on Saturday and Sunday, who can win up to $1,000 prize.

As a matter of a fact, there will be 50 hockey sets spread across RiverWorks’ floor for gameplay, including 10 from the Clarence-based Innovative Concepts in Entertainment, which is behind the bubble hockey game Super Chexx. SoHo Table Hockey and Stiga models will also be available for play.

Are you looking forward to the event?

We interviewed the players and asked them if they are looking forward to the Buffalo festivities, and here we present some of their answers:

“Oh yes I am a real passionate I want to play all types of game and this is the side I like this tournament is more a festival and I really want this sport is more recognized and I think we’re going to that”

Patrick Cote
Age: 39, Home town: Montreal Quebec Canada

“This is the first tournament of it’s kind. Having the opportunity to compete on 4 different games is a challenge I have looked forward to for a long time.”

Len Mecca
Age: 69, Home town: Somers Point, NJ

“I can’t wait for the event in Buffalo. Winning is great, but the game has become such a big part of my life, I’m just looking forward to meeting new people and seeing some people I’ve met in the past who I can compete and spend time with. “

Tom Boyle
Age: 46, Home town: Chalfont, Pa

“Yes. It is going to be a nice trip. It is always too hot in Florida, it should be a nice break from that. The tournament will be very exciting as there will be many new people to play against and learn things from. I am very much hoping that there is a doubles bracket at the tournament, as I enjoy those games more than singles. After the tournament is over for the day, Buffalo looks to be an interesting city to explore, the mission is to find the best wings”

Will Davies
Age: 27, Home town: Melbourne, FL

“YES! It’s a hometown event for me! Looking forward to representing the Buffalo/716 and seeing the talent that shows up from out of town. Personal goal is to advance to play offs Sunday.”

James Thiel
Age: 38, Hometown: North Tonawanda, NY
